Outcome of our wedding photos selection (27/10/2009)

The wedding photos selection is really tedious!!! Luckily it's over.

1 week after the photoshoot(23/10/2009), our photos were ready for selection. Hence, we went down to Venus after my training at Bukit Merah.Reached Venus at about 3.30pm. Initially thought we could complete it within 2 hours. We were wrong!!!

We were surprised to see 600 photos in 2R format (20 big pieces with 30 photos each). It could have been more. Noticed that quite alot of photos were being deleted (Based on the jump in the photo ref). They have did some colour enhancement and editing which looks really nice. We have discussed on the selection criteria (Gregory will do the first round of deletion, follow by me). For every single backdrop, we will choose max 5 photos and will further eliminate from there.

After 5 hours of selection, we only managed to eliminate 500 photos. Still got 30 more to go. Furthermore, we have yet to check our photos using the PC to ensure that the photos are okay when enlarged. As we are both very tired, we decided to call it a day and go on another day.

On Tuesday afternoon 12 pm, with my mama accompanying me, I made my way down to Venus again to do the remaining elimination. Bearing in mind that I do not want too many repeated poses or backdrop appearing, i will try my best to cross out more photos.

I can choose up to max of 26 layouts, 70 photos for my 2 albums.

My final selection was as follow

Indoor Album (Portrait album)
1) Bustier tube layered gown - White backdrop (3 photos)
2) Bustier tube layered gown - Night scenery backdrop (2 photos)
3) Purple feather evening gown - Classic victorian chair and staircase backdrop (3 photos)
4) Purple feather evening gown - Grandfather's clock and chandellier backdrop (3 photos)
5) Golden Victorian evening gown - Victorian Style backdrop (2 photos)
6) Golden Victorian evening gown - White coloured door backdrop (2 photos)
7) Princessy tube A line gown - Rose garden backdrop (2 photos)
8) Princessy tube A line gown - Water and leaves backdrop (3 photos)
9) Cheongsum - Old shanghai backdrop (3 photos)
10) Butterfly tube A line gown - Carrying words (4 photos)
11) Butterfly tube A line gown - Snow backdrop (3 photos)
12)Butterfly tube A line gown - Blue painted room with cage backdrop (2 photos)
13) Red colour evening gown - Classic victorian style with ancient mirror (3 photos)

Total 35 photos, 13 layouts (hehe.. just nice to fill up 1 album, never exceed.)

As for the outdoor, it was really hard to choose because we find the scenery too beautiful. Nevertheless, we still try to plan on the possible no of layouts that we will need based on our selection.

Outdoor album (Landscape)

Sultan Garden

1) Standing infront of a row of trees (3 photos)
2) Standing infront of a row of tress (2 photos)
3) Lying down and touching the fruits on the tree (3 photos)

12) Casual wear with pink cow (3 photos)
13) Running on the beach (3 photos)
14) Trees behind/ taking balloons (3 photos)

(Sub total = 15 photos)

Grandtotal for outdoor album is 14 layouts with 38 photos. hehe.. exceed by 4 photos. hehe.. End up topping up RM300 for the additional page.

hehe... We have chosen quite a no of photos facing the camera, in view that cute gregory do not like natural poses. hehehe.... but of course, we can't help choosing some romantic kissing poses to complement the whole album. hehe...

Both photographers were very professional and good. Therefore, our selection were very evenly distributed among the 2 different photography styles)

Derrick artwork - Chosen 30 photos
Ah Xiang's artwork - Chosen 44 photos

Checked with Ivy, she said we can view the edited pic in 1.5 months time. (Should be ready by mid Dec)hehe... Hope to see the end result real soon.

Day 3 - Indoor Studio photoshoot (18/10/2009)

After we checked out from Crystal Crown hotel at 11.15am, we go straight to Venus Bridal for 3rd round of photoshoot.

Today, the whole studio is packed with pple. There were 3 couples in the studio, yet only 1 MUA, jimmy is around. I waited for almost 45 mins before I can do my makeup and hairstyle. For the past 2 days, Liffey was the one helping me with the makeup. As Jimmy do not have any assignments for that past 2 days, he did noticed what type of makeup and hairstyle that Liffey has done for me. It was the more drama type of thick makeup with 2 layers of eye lashes to make me look like a doll. hehee...Jimmy decided to help me do a more natural type of makeup - European style.

Look below:

Derrick managed to take quite a few backdrops for this gown. Think this hairstyle is really sweet... After this, we quickly changed to the last costume, the traditional Kua...

We left the studio at around 3pm..

Finally, our photoshoot is over!!!!!

Day 2 - Indoor studio and Sultan Garden

On 17 Oct, 10.30 am, we reached the studio for our 2nd round of photoshoot.

Our 2nd day photoshoot involves
Photographer: Ah Xiang
Videographer: Ah kok
MUA: Liffey
As usual, liffey being so professional in her work, help me to settle down quickly. She will check with me on what type of style i like. hehe.. I prefer the more princessy type of style. hehe... she started to came up with a nice hairstyle for me which i like the best. It perfectly matches my bustier tube layered gown.

See pic below:

Ah Xiang took alot of photos for us using 2 different backdrops (A solid white colour backdrop and a balcony scenery backdrop)

After which, we quickly change to our 2nd outfit - The peacock feather costume. Initially I were still worried that I will look abit like mama san because the costume looks very "drama". The effect wasn't that bad after all.

See below:

The 3rd outfit was my favourite V shape low cut victorian gown. I think the colour looks very unique.

See below:

4th outfit change - The tube princessy A line gown. Liffey feel that I should have some hairstyle bun up, or else every style looks the same.

See below for my new hairstyle:

5th outfit change - My cheongsum from Emanuel B Couture. hehe... The pastel pink and blue combination makes me look fairer. Do I look more ancient??

6th outfit change: Red colour bareback gown.. hehe.. too bad, in this photo, you won't be able to see the bare back due to the angle.
After 6 outfits, it was already about 4.30 pm. The photographer felt that it was abit too late. Hence, we decided to move on to the Sultan Garden before the sky gets dark. After the outdoor, we shall complete the last 2 indoor studio outfit.

I think the green scenery and the old building at Sultan garden really looks great. See the effect:

After finishing the Sultan Garden, we reached the studio at around 7pm. Don't know whether we are considered unlucky or not. There were electrical failure for the whole row of shophouses. We were asked to come back on another day to complete the photoshoot for the last 2 outfits.
Since we will only check out on sunday, 18 oct, we requested to take the remaining photoshoot on the very next day. However, my MUA and photographer ah Xiang will not be around. I will need to change to Jimmy as MUA and photographer: Derrick (1st day photographer).. Since they both have very good reviews from customers, I have no objection to the plan.
We fixed our next day appointment to be on 11.30am.
Overall, this was the 2nd day schedule:
10.30am to 5pm: Indoor (6 change of outfits and hairstyle).
5pm to 7 pm: Sultan garden ( 1 change of outfit and hairstyle).

Phew.. such a tiring day!

Day 1 - Photoshoot at Desaru & Kota Tinggi

Hurray.. Finally the photoshoot day has arrived!!! On 16th October, we woke up super early and took a taxi down from Rochor to Johor for our photoshoot. At around 8.30am on our way to the customs, it started to rain very heavily. We started to get very worried as we are going to have our outdoor photoshoot. How if the rain doesn't stopped?

At around 10am, we reached the Crystal crown hotel to check in and deposit our luggage. hehe...Venus Bridal is just directly opposite the hotel. Super convenient. With Venus Bridal booking hotel for us, we managed to get a discount (no need to pay for additional tax and surcharge - Only RM155 per nite)

We proceeded to Venus Bridal at 10.30am sharp for our appointment as we do not want to be late. Once we reached, the professional make up artist, Liffey helped us to settle down and help me with the make up.

10.30 am to 11.30 am: Make up and hairstyling for Catherine. While i do my makeup, hubby will need to sit down at the couch to wait for me.. haha.. For gals, it's usually very long. Luckily, there's a television to keep him occupied.

11.30 am to 12 pm: Make up for Gregory
12 pm: Ready to go to our first destination: Desaru.

Luckily, by the time when we are about to set off to Desaru, the rain has stopped. There are a whole team of people following us: Photographer: Derrick, 2 photographer assistants: Weiming & Ah Qi, and videographer: Ah kok..

At around 2 pm, we reached Desaru. Ah kok commented that the sea scenery were the nicest on that day as the water is usually not so blue and clear.. Maybe it was due to the rain earlier on.

hehehe.... We started by taking some photos at the rock area. Derrick is really very professional.. I think the photos will turn out to be very nice. Here are some of the photos hubby take for me using a normal camera.

After which, we move on to the lalang field. Alot of grasshoppers.. Even got cockroachs crawling on me. Arhhhhhh.....

hehe... We didn't really stay very long at the lalang field. After a few shots, we moved on to the other side of the beach. At the beach, we have rose petals, champagne to accompany us. We were asked to take romantic shots and even some shots in the water. This makes our gown really very wet and dirty. However, we really got great fun!!!

After we took the a few shots in the water, we changed to our casual wear where Gregory will act in the scene, proposing to me (just like the proposal at Sentosa last year). hehe.. Alot of cute poses. haha.. but too bad, we did not take any shots using our camera because it's inside the car.

At around 4pm, we finished the photoshoot at Desaru.

After about 2 hours of travelling, we reached our next destination; Kota Tinggi waterfalls at 6pm. As our bridal package does not include the admission fee for the kota tinggi waterfall resort, we need to pay RM48 for 6 persons. hehe... I went on to change into the 2nd wedding gown which is in mermaid cut.

We finish the photoshoot at 7.15pm... By the time we reached the bridal studio, it's already 8pm. Such a tiring day!!!

Emanuel B Couture Cheongsum EG collected (The day before the photoshoot)

Yeah!! I can finally collect my evening gown from Emanuel B Couture after a few months of waiting. On the 15 October, I specially took a half day off from work to collect the gown.

After which, I went for a luxurious spa retreat at Body contours, follow by a mani/pedi session at Beauty Express. hahaha.. Isn't that a fruitful trip?

Now, I'm all ready to go for my photoshoot!!!

Photoshoot gown selection

I always hope to look like a princess in a land of fantasy. Hence, I had chosen Venus Bridal as my bridal studio. They are famous for their great variety of themed backgrounds and digital designs (resembles taiwanese style photography). Very classic and unique. Even though some might think that having too much digital backdrop might make the photo looks fake, but I think otherwise.
I simply don't like plain backgrounds though people might find it more natural. I just want to be loud, different, outstanding (haha.. a strong characteristic of my horoscope - Leo).
haha... Wanna be a princess, right?? I guess A line ball gown will suit me the best. Like Cinderella!!!! hahaha... Guess what? I have chosen 3 tube wedding gowns. Out of this 3 wedding gowns, 2 gowns are A line.

After almost 3 hours of selection, I finally confirmed 6 gowns for my indoor photoshoot (3 wedding gowns and 3 evening gowns). For the remaining 5 gowns, we will choose it on the day itself.. hehe...

Selected wedding gown 1

This is tube A line gown with alot of black crystals.. Can see alot of butterflies at the bottom. The outcome of the gown in the photoshoot will look like this as below:

It definitely matches the rose garden backdrop perfectly. It will look as if I'm living in a dream land of fantasy... hehehe...

Selected Wedding gown 2

This is a very simple but princessy A line gown.. Doesn't it looks sweet? Just look at the after effect of the wedding gown below, I believe you will agree with me?? hahaha..

Selected Wedding gown 3

This tube gown is abit different from the first 2 gowns (Tube top is bustier cut and the bottom has alot of layers. No more A line for me) I like the long tail best. hehehe...

For evening gowns, I decided to choose a more thematic type of approach based on my favourite dramas. Looks abit "kua zhang" but I really hope to look unique and outstanding.

Selected Evening Gown 1

This halter neck V shaped low-cut gown looks sexy. Haha.. But the material looks abit like curtain cloth at first glance. However, after looking at the photos taken by the photographer, I decided to confirm this gown as it totally matches the victorian backdrop. This backdrop is my favourite as it resembles the one inside "romantic princess" taiwanese drama. Please see below.

Romantic Princess Taiwanese Drama

Selected Evening gown 2

As usual, I'm a drama addict. Recently fell in love with cheongsums after watching the TVB drama "The charm Beneath" which was shown on channel 8. Of course I will take this opportunity to include a cheongsum as my evening gown. Wanna have the 1930s shanghainese look.. This cheongsum has very nice embroidery and i think the effect will look great with their interesting backdrop. See below:

haha.... The last gown looks very "drama" hor? haha... Made up of peacock feathers of 3 different colours, this evening gown really look very interesting. Can I turn into a peacock fairy? hahaha...

One additional outdoor photoshoot added.. Kota Tinggi Water falls

Today, I called Ivy from the bridal studio with regards to the bridal package. I have decided to add one more destination (Kota Tinggi Waterfalls) for my photoshoot. Initially, I was being quoted RM350 as they will require me to come on another day for photoshoot.

After checking with Kim(one of the female boss), they tried to compromise to my request and reduce the price to RM150. Hence, my photoshoot schedule had been changed to the following

9th Oct, 11 am - Photoshoot gown selectioin

16th Oct
Morning: Kota Tinggi Waterfalls
Afternoon: Desaru beach

17th Oct
Morning: Sultan Gardens
Afternoon: Indoor

hehehe.... Hopefully the photos will turn out nice... I have a total of 11 gown outfits. hehehe... I think the best thing for Malaysia studio is that they are not stingy in giving us more change in outfits... Everything is half price... Now, the currency rate is S$100: RM245... Very good rates!!!

5 days countdown to my photoshoot gown selection

Woo hoo... 5 more days to go and I can try on all the nice bridal gowns for my photoshoot.

My photoshoot gown selection date had been fixed to be on 9th Oct 09 (This coming Friday) at 11 am. I think I shall call my bridal studio again tmr to confirm the appointment. At the same time, I just got the green light from cute little gregory to include one more outdoor destination in our package. Looks like there will be some negotiation going on again tmr. Hope that it won't cost too much. hehehe...

At the same time, after a few days of antiseptic oinment application, looks like my ear lobe infection is not as serious as before. No more bleeding and pus. Yeah!! Looks like it is healing fast.. Hopefully i can wear nice earrings on the photoshoot day. In case it doesn't heal, I have brought along lots of clip on earrings as a back up plan. hehehe...

So excited about my upcoming bridal photoshoot!!!

Have I grown fatter??

Oops... Wonder whether I have grown fatter. I have already went for a few rounds of gown fitting sessions these 2 mths. Everytime, I have to ask the designer to loosen either the waist or the hip area. hahaha... Always too tight!!! ARHHHHHH!!!!

Maybe it could be due to too many buffets recently. Guess I must really watch my diet and exercise more regularly just like before.

Looking back to September 08 last year, I was as heavy as 52.5 kg. At that time, I did not really think of losing weight. I ate hokkien mee or char siew rice for almost every meal (Very unhealthy food). Mitsui 50th Anniversary dinner was a turning point for me. haha.. In Sept 08, I was being notified that there will be an anniversary dinner at St Regis Hotel. Being so excited, I tried on my black bareback evening gown when I reached home. I realised it was so tight for me until the dress can't even zip up. Oops....

I told myself that I must be able to fit into that dress in 2 mths. So I started to monitor my diet and start my exercise regime.

Vision:

To look hot & sexy & slim

Mission:

->I do not believe in crash diets/No diet pills. I will not skip any meals, but strive to eat more healthy food by following the food pyramid closely

->Exercise regularly, but not excessively.

With this in mind, I started to plan my diet programme. I usually eat porridge (1 meat, 2 vege) or sliced fish beehoon or Yong tau Foo for lunch. For exercise, I started to go for jogging and swimming. At the same time, I have an existing boxercise class which I go every tuesday. I slowing increase my exercise frequency to 5 times a week.

2 mths later, I managed to lose 3kg and fit into my evening gown.
6 mths later, I lost 8 kg and reduced my weight to 44.5kg.

Since then, my weight has remained constant till now. I cannot slim down further in view of the BMI (I will be considered underweight if it falls below 44kg)

I'm still continuing with my jogging and shopping habit (Walk to and fro far east plaza and plaza singapura) every weekend. Hopefully I can fit into that cheongsum v v soon. I can't wait to collect it by 15th Oct!!!

Our lovenest: Compassvale Beacon updates

Since my last updates in May, the construction progress has been very fast. But hope it can be faster. There was a BTO at compassvale view which was launched exactly 1 year before us. From what I heard, the people have already received the HLE letter from HDB for loan application starting from 1st Oct 09 onwards. That means keys can be collected very soon.
If everything goes well, hope we can get the house by end of next yr.
As at 30th September, these are the updates

210B - Level 13
210C - Level 12
211A - Level 12
